The TRE Communities Conference will take place in Edinburgh, Monday 16 – Wednesday 18 November 2026.
It brings together funders, leaders, practitioners, researchers, technologists, policy makers, public members and innovators from across the Trusted Research Environments ecosystem.
RI-SCALE’s Technical Coordinator Ville Tenhunen (EGI Foundation) and Heimo Müller (BBMRI-ERIC) will co-lead the plenary session “Responsible AI in Trusted Research Environments”: AI models and workflows trained or used on sensitive data may leak that data. This session explores the challenges related to training AI on sensitive data and running generative AI inference securely on such data. The session will include short talks and discussions, exploring existing community solutions, and specific capabilities currently under development by the session co-organisers: Data Exploitation Platform by the EGI-led RI-SCALE project, and trusted AI assistants for TREs by Aridhia.
